Shades of Purple with Accents of Blue

This week I am excited to share with you a modern pocket invitation with a whimsical flair.  

This chic invitation used deep purples and lavendar metallics with playful florals incorporating a splash of blue. Carine and Timothy's luxurious purple theme was carried throughout their wedding day from the floral centerpieces right down to the groom's tie.  Their wedding was absolutely gorgeous!

Black Linen and Fuschia Satin Elegance

Creative Expressions Invitation Couture has been nice and busy this 2011 wedding season designing beautiful invitations and stationery for amazing brides and grooms.  So, it has been quite awhile since I have had the opportunity to share what we have been up to.

Black and Fuschia! Oooh La La!!

 The "black" in "black tie" has made a spectacular entrance back into the wedding scene.  From stationery to wedding decor black has been coupled with beautiful, vibrant colours such as fuschia to create an exciting backdrop to the most lavish affairs!  The combination of Black and Fuschia has been HOT in 2010 and is continuing to display its beauty into the 2011 wedding season.  Add a couple of dazzling swarovski crystals and "Voila!" " Ooooh  La La!"

Introduce your special day with a gorgeous invitation made of the finest black linen, accented with  luxurious fuschia and black satin and adorned with sparkles of swarovski crystals.  When this exquisite invitation is opened, your personal message to each guest is inscribed in flowing script and all of your enclosures are carefully presented in a pretty interior pochette.

South Asian Inspiration

I love South Asian Weddings because of the detail and tradition that goes into each one.   Stunning decor, luxurious fabrics, rich colours, ornate, intricate, glamorous bridal attire, lavish rituals, lively cultural dancing and delicious  food.

I had the opportunity to work with two very lovely couples  to design two absolutely stunning South Asian inspired invitations, created in Red and Gold.

The first invitation was created with beautiful handmade, linen textured paper imported from India, embossed with a stunning golden foil floral design. The interior was printed on a rich cream linen cardstock with intricate gold detailing in the corners and along the top and bottom.  Since the wedding incorporated many events and rituals we required a lot of print space, so we designed an accordion fold with four panels.  The invitation was then wrapped with a pretty satin ribbon and placed in an elegant box for delivery.

The second invitation is an elegant silk folio.  We used a deep red silk with satin gold ribbon work and a very elegant crystal brooch closure.  The interior invitation was printed on a golden metallic cardstock and the two side pockets held  the enclosures with the various events taking place both prior to, during and after the actual wedding ceremony.  This invitation set was a very unique and elegant introduction to this very lavish affair.
