The Elegant Wedding Show.................. An Unforgettable Experience!

Once again, the Elegant Wedding Bridal Showcase has surpassed everyone's expectations.  From elegant fantasy table settings, to lavish floral arrangements, spectacular decor, mesmerizing photographs, luxurious wedding invitations, glamorous wedding jewelry, breathtaking wedding gowns and delectable wedding cakes.  Colours, crystals, rich linens and timeless classics.  The entire showcase was simply enchanting!

In two ballrooms and one grand chandelier lined alley of the Windsor Ballrooms, brides and grooms were able to envision the wedding of their dreams with some of the most prestigious wedding professionals in Montreal.

At the show, I had the opportunity to showcase my newest custom design creations.  Gorgeous silk invitations, dazzling crystal embellishments, fine hand embossed designs, delicate ribbon artistry and beautifully designed silver decals.  The elegant wedding show was the first public debut for many of these exclusive invitation designs.  They can now be viewed by appointment and will be introduced on my website and blog in the coming months.

This year in preparation for the show, I was able to work and interact with many of the wedding professionals showcased and was able to experience the pure artistic talent that each of these industry leaders contribute to our very prestigious bridal community in Montreal.

Luluthia created many lavish floral masterpieces throughout the Windsor Ballrooms.  They even designed a a very creative floral arrangement to accent my display.  Luluthia never fails to mesmerize with their gorgeous modern floral creations.

The fantasy table settings were magnificent and I had the pleasure of working with the very talented designers from Sofa to Go, Elegant Seat Covers and Bravo to create accenting menus, place cards and bonbonnieres to compliment their elegant table decor.  The tables were decorated in deep purples and silvers, an eye catching fuschia combination and a very beautiful baby blue and black table setting with a nested rose table linen and shiny silver accents.

In addition to the beautiful table setting options, Joe's Prop House can incorporate unique furniture pieces to accent your wedding theme.  Timeless classics can be found at Joe's Prop House. The possibilities are endless!


Throughout the afternoon, breathtaking wedding gowns by Melissa Gentile were modelled in a continuous fashion show.  Beautiful live mannequins lined the booths in the Windsor Ballroom elegantly showcasing Melissa's stylish masterpieces.

Trink once again dazzled us with her magical crystal jewelry.  Customized pieces that are sure to glamorize any wedding ensemble.  Designed with glittering swarovski crystal elements, Trink can design and customize exclusive, unique pieces for the entire bridal party.

Luisa Galuppo's Cake display tantalized all the senses.  Beautiful works of art that were so pleasing to the eye and delectable samples that tickled every tastebud.  Luisa's work is absolutely stunning.  Spoil yourself with a beautiful design from Luisa Galuppo.

Predesigned or Custom Design?

Choosing the perfect design for your wedding invitations is a step in the planning process you don't want to skimp on.  Your invitation is the first introduction to your special day.  Let your invitations reflect the elegance and beauty.   Let the anticipation begin on the day that your guests open the luxurious envelope or elegant box that holds the invitation to your most lavish affair.

There are many beautiful invitation options.  The first decision to make is predesigned or custom design?  Predesigned invitations are available from a variety of printing companies from across Canada and the United States through invitation designers and retailers.  Many invitation designers carry numerous albums in a variety of different styles and price points in addition to their custom design work so that brides and grooms can easily compare their options.  Predesigned invitations are a great option for very large weddings or if a bride and groom are on a tight budget.  They are typically sold in quantities of 25 and the bulk of the cost is reflected in the first 25 invitations.  This covers the costs of proofing, plating and initial print.  Reprints are then printed at very minimal cost, thereby making this option very appealing to larger wedding parties.  The limitations to predesigned invitations is that the colours and styles are only available as sampled in most albums, therefore, if you have a particular colour scheme or theme that you would like to introduce and follow through for your wedding day you may have a limited selection.

For Brides and Grooms that would like a very specific style, theme or colour scheme or if the invitations need to be bilingual or even trilingual, then custom design is definitely the option of choice.  Custom Design offers a blank canvas and the creative design options are limitless.  All invitation designs can be created in any colour combination and your personal style can easily be reflected in your invitations.  Most custom invitation designers will also be very accommodating to multiple languages.  The invitation can either be designed to creatively include all languages on one invitation or invitations can be created and printed in each language selection individually.  Custom design also allows for the creation of matching stationery and accessories such as place cards, menus, programs, table charts and bonbonnieres. 

Custom design is unique, special and personal.  Your invitations will be one of a kind, a truly unique introduction to your much anticipated day.

Boxed Invitations - A Beautiful Intro to an Elegant Affair

Step out of the ordinary and wrap your luxurious invitations in an elegant Invitation Box.  Invitation boxes are unique, beautiful and elegant.  They come in many sizes and styles and can be customized to your invitation design.  Beautiful Linen textured boxes portray pure elegance and displays the beauty of the invitation within.

Environmentally Friendly Invitations

In this day and age when we are becoming more and more environmentally conscious, many brides and grooms have chosen to have  an “ eco friendly” or “green” wedding, but they still wish to send their guests a formal wedding invitation.  There are many different options that can be used.  It is, however, very important to know what to ask for when searching as not every invitation designer is aware of the many beautiful environmentally friendly paper and accessory options that are available.

For the paper/cardstock used for the invitation, a wide variety of Post Consumer Waste (PCW) Papers, recycled or tree free papers such as 100% cotton and Bamboo papers can be used.  Many of these papers are white, ivory or beige in colour, but you can always accessorize the invitation by using a variety of ink colours  (regular or soy based) and also accessorize with ribbons or dried flowers.

There are many recycled paper options that come in a variety of colours and textures both in matte and metallic finishes.  However, you should be aware that the percent of recyclable materials in these papers is only between 20-30% and the processes used to create/coat these papers/cardstocks release many waste products into our environment.

Another very unique and interesting option is to use seeded papers.  These papers are typically made of 100% PCW papers and are embedded with wildflower seeds.  The paper is planted under a thin layer of soil and after about 4-6 weeks of watering,  beautiful wildflowers will bloom!  The important thing to remember when printing on these papers is to never use printers with high heat such as laser printers because the heat will destroy the seeds.

A beautiful option when using 100% cotton papers is letterpress.  The paper/cardstock is usually nice and thick and the letterpress beautifully imprints your designs and text onto the paper.

Accessorizing with ribbon also adds a touch of colour and elegance to your invitation.  In addition to the usual satin, gros grain and chiffon ribbons there are also some very pretty eco friendly options such as cotton twill ribbon , cotton tape, raffia recycled paper ribbon and cotton cords.

Oh So Purple!

Purple is a very hot colour for 2010/2011.  It combines beautifully with white, ivory, silver, green and black.  It comes in many beautiful shades and design papers.  One of my most popular designs was a 4 x 9 bifold invitation.

This elegant invitation has a striking lavender swirl overlay, adorned with satin thistle ribbon and a sparkly crystal buckle. The satin corners within this invitation adds to its luxurious charm.
